Week 11 of 13 · Phase 3: Front and Back Matter

Acknowledgments and the Call to Action Page.

The single most important page of marketing real estate in your book is the back-of-book Call to Action. One headline. One next step. One URL. That is it.

The Assignment

Write your Acknowledgments, your Dedication (optional), and your back-of-book Call to Action page.

The Acknowledgments are professional and brief. The Dedication is optional and short. The Call to Action page is short, single-focused, and the highest-leverage page in the book.

Do not turn the back of your book into a menu of options. One offer. One action. The reader who just finished your book is, for ten minutes, the most qualified buyer you will ever have. Do not bury that moment under five competing CTAs.

Word count target: 800 to 1,200 words total.
The Framework

Acknowledgments

Keep it professional and genuine. Three categories.

  1. Professional mentors, collaborators, and clients who shaped your thinking.
  2. The people who helped produce this book (editors, designers, supporters).
  3. Personal (family, friends) in one brief, sincere paragraph.

Avoid: listing 40 names nobody knows, inside jokes, excessive sentimentality. This page reflects your professionalism.

Back-of-Book Call to Action

A separate page after your final chapter and before your Acknowledgments. The single most important piece of marketing real estate in your book.

  1. A headline that speaks to the reader who just finished your book.
  2. One clear next step (your website, a free resource, a consultation link).
  3. A brief description of what they'll get.
  4. The URL or QR code.

One offer. One action. No menu of options.

If You Get Stuck

Here's my back-of-book Call to Action draft: [paste]. Is it clear enough? Is there only one action? Does it feel like a natural next step?

Completion Check
You are done when: Your CTA page has one URL and one action. Your Acknowledgments are gracious and brief. If you wrote a Dedication, it is meaningful and short.

Marking this week complete unlocks the next module immediately. Move at the pace that fits your life. The 90-day window is the ceiling, not the pace.
