Week 7 of 13 · Phase 2: Drafting

Teaching Chapters Five and Six.

The late teaching chapters. This is where authors lose energy. You are past the excitement of starting and not yet at the finish line. Trust the framework. The discipline of the system is what separates finished manuscripts from abandoned drafts.

The Assignment

Draft Chapters 7 and 8 using the Teaching Chapter Framework.

The same five-part framework. By now you can run it on autopilot. Use that to your advantage. These chapters often cover the most important territory in the book.

This is also the week where the reader's biggest internal objection lives. The chapter that addresses "But this will not work for me because..." is often the chapter that closes the sale on your authority.

Word count target: 5,000 to 7,000 words total.
The Framework

What Late Teaching Chapters Usually Cover

  • Common mistakes and how to avoid them.
  • Advanced applications or edge cases.
  • The "what most people get wrong" chapter that demolishes competing approaches (without naming competitors).
  • The chapter that addresses the reader's biggest internal objection: "But this will not work for me because..."

A Note on Momentum

This is also where many authors lose energy. You are past the excitement of starting and not yet at the finish line. The framework is your friend here. Follow the structure. Trust the architecture. The discipline of the system is what separates finished manuscripts from abandoned drafts. Two chapters this week. Stay in the rhythm.
