Week 9 of 13 · Phase 2: Drafting

The Call to Action Chapter.

The chapter that decides whether your reader acts or shelves the book. Not motivation. Not inspiration. Conviction. Tell them exactly what to do this week.

The Assignment

Draft Chapter 10, the closing chapter.

This is the last chapter of the book proper. It is not a sales pitch. It is the chapter that determines whether your reader implements something on Monday morning or sets the book on a shelf and forgets about it.

The structure has four parts. Each part has a job. Do not skip any of them.

Word count target: 2,000 to 3,000 words.
The Framework

The Four-Part Structure

  1. The Recap (300 to 500 words). Briefly summarize the journey. Not chapter by chapter. A narrative arc: where the reader started (the problem), what they now understand (the methodology), and what is possible (the outcome).
  2. The First Step (500 to 800 words). Tell them exactly what to do first. Not everything. Not the whole methodology. The single first action they should take this week. Make it small enough to be undeniable and significant enough to create momentum.
  3. The Invitation (300 to 500 words). If you have a next step to offer (a consultation, a service, a resource, a community), this is where you mention it. Once. Without pressure. Frame it as: "If you want to go further, here is how." Then move on.
  4. The Close (200 to 400 words). End with conviction. Not inspiration. Not motivation. Conviction. Tell them what you believe about this work and why it matters. Leave them with the emotional fuel to act.

Completion Check
You are done when: Your reader finishes this chapter knowing exactly what to do next. They feel capable, not overwhelmed. If you have a service or next step, it is mentioned naturally without undermining the value of the book itself.
